Let's kick this off the right way, shall we? I made a Blog devoted to my sports teams. Not your teams, not your neighbor's teams, only my teams. I will post every day or close to it, about why my teams are the greatest, or why they should fold faster than the XFL. XFL is the Vince McMahon football experiment gone horribly wrong, and lasted all of one season.
Who are my teams, you ask? For football, it's none other than "there's-more-than-corn-in INDIANA-POLIS COLTS". For those of you that have been to Indiana, that would make sense to you. I chose this team solely because my family lives there. Not because they actually win games, or have the best QB of all time (Peyton "I like to choke in big game situations" Manning). I could have a million reasons to hate this team, but then again I could have a million reasons why I don't claim Sarah Palin as an Alaskan resident. I love this team through and through and dread when the NFL season comes to an end, and I have to settle for golf or whacked out sports.
Golf is great, but I would rather watch the Detroit Lions training camp instead of watching golf on a regular basis. I like to play golf, but watching other people play makes me want to punch my self in the junk.
Onto another team I hold so dear, and it's the NEW YORK RANGERS. The "Broadway Blueshirts," as they have been proclaimed. I have followd the Rangers ever since I can remember. I was starry-eyed when they won the cup in 94 behind Messier and Richter. I have watched in agony over the last 16 years when they haven't gotten close since. Year after year, I want to take Glen Sather (Rangers President/GM) to a curling game and watch him twist and turn in utter boredom. This is how I feel sometimes watching the boys in blue. Yesterday was the biggest trading day in NHL history. Who did the Rangers pick up? A useless defensemen, and another guy from Hockeytown's pond hockey team. Give me a break. Rangers are holding on to the 8th spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race and are about to be on life support. Granted they have been without superstar Marian Gaborik, they still could have used a shake up.
Enough about hockey, let's talk NBA. My team....the Indiana Pacers. Please don't laugh. Moving on....
The Beavers of Corvallis, otherwise known as the Oregon State Beavers, are the guys I follow in the Collegiate world of sports. They aren't great, they are good, and they are a few star players away from PAC 10 titles. Obama's brother in law Craig Robinson, has done a great job with the basketball program, and Mike Riley for the football studs. Although the basketball team won't make the big tourney this year, they did win the CBI last year. Yes it is a real tournament, and the Beavers won it the inaugural year. This is the Beavers only championship of any kind in basketball, and only the 2nd championship in OSU's men's sports history behind back-to-back College World Series baseball titles.
I love the New York Yankees, and not because of their 27 World Title wins. My grandpa brainwashed me at a young age, and I havent been the same since.
Well I have other mind numbing tasks to get to, so I will post again soon. Peace.
